Spooky biscuits, monster blood spattered fruit kebabs, ghost cupcakes, witch hats and mummified sausage rolls
If you’re thinking of throwing a little Halloween party or fancy getting the kids stuck into some fun seasonal kitchen projects, then I’ve got a few recipe ideas for you. I’ve come up with five spooky party foods for Parentdish, so if you want to know how to make them click on the links below:
- Classic Halloween biscuits – dead easy to make, and stamping out the shapes with ready rolled fondant icing makes them look really professional
- Fruit kebabs with monster blood – adds a healthy dimension to the party table, but satisfies boys’ tendencies for guts and gore
- Ghost cupcakes – the ghoulish meringues remind me of ghost busters
- Chocolate witch hats – no cooking involved, just be prepared for all chefs involved to be coated in chocolate too
- Sausage roll mummies – a lovely warming treat after a hard night’s trick or treating
I can certainly vouch for Arlo’s enjoyment of ‘helping’ me out with making the witch hats…
Lovely ideas there Katie. Arlo looks like the cat that got the cream!! I don’t think I could cope with the chocolatey mess myself but will pass on the ideas to daughter as she and NCT friends often do Halloween party for the kids.
yes the mess was extraordinary!!!! More in the eating than the making though!
Some really lovely ideas here Katie, I don’t usually get that into Halloween but the kids really love it, I’ll be making the witches hats, for sure and the meringue ghosts as cupcake toppers are a brilliant idea.
thanks Ren – I had lots of fun making them all 🙂
Takes me back to someone I know who loved getting covered in chocolate! What super ideas, well done.
Hehehe thanks mum 🙂
great ideas – I love the witches hats in particular – what can’t be improved by chocolate! And I have a we lover of witches here who would love it
glad you like them – the witch hats are my faves too 🙂
Just to say that once again your site was a hit! I just finished the witch hats and the cupcakes. The witches were indeed a mess but adored! Quick tip: I found I could better secure the cones if I microwaved the chocolate biscuit a bit first and set the cone in it. Thanks for another fun idea.
Love those bat biscuits! But might do the mummy sausage rolls, for a laugh!
